# Changelog # Demon Lands Closed Testing Build ## [1.1.0] - Added a new difficulty-select option! You can select "Story", "Recruit", "Normal", or "Masochist". This is done right at the beginning of a new game, but can be changed when playing. --- Story: For those with no interest in combat. Enemies can be 1-hit, and you can't be defeated unless you Surrender. --- Recruit: Similar to Normal, but with half-health enemies who deal half-damage. --- Normal: The intended experience, what the previous build was! --- Masochist: A new "hard mode" difficulty, for those looking for an extra challenge and don't mind being defeated often. This will likely still take some more balancing over time, so be warned. --- You can change your difficulty at any time during the game through the options menu. --- The Demon Log shows the highest difficulty you've defeated each enemy on. There may be rewards for defeating all enemies on the hardest difficulty in the future. --- On Masochist mode and for specific enemies, Alex gives more detailed and difficulty-specific advice during the game over scenes. - Added an Alchemy system, which allows you to craft new items. --- At the moment, craftable items are limited. I will be expanding on this feature as development continues! --- Several enemies now drop various "essences" at different likelihoods. These essences will be the basis of many crafting recipes. - Added some instances of Lucas being nude when talking - Added graphic menu options to Title Screen - Added a crystal to the Event Recall room which lets you unlock and re-hide every CG Scene in the game. - Added finished versions of all enemy graphics - Added the resale value of Relics to their description. - Added a mechanic where, if Lucas is unsuccessful when struggling, you gain an additional 10% (additive) chance of success on the next attempt. --- This takes the form of a new state called "Struggling", which stacks. --- Each stack of this state increases struggle success chance by 1%. You get 10 stacks for every unsuccessful struggle, thus a 10% increase. You can reach 100% this way. --- If you successfully struggle out of bondage, all "Struggling" stacks are removed. - Added a new "Wriggler" Relic to Isaac's shop, which increases your Struggle success chance by 10% (additive) each stack. - Added Skip Cutscene options to Tommy's dialogue about the Wood Dryad and the Fossilized Valley - Added the "Paladin's Garb", a version of the Adventurer's Garb with a Paladin badge and Sword. Lucas unlocks this as soon as he becomes a Paladin. - Added a "Magnet of Midas" Relic to the Star Coin shop. This generates a small amount of gold every time you finish your turn. - Added 4 pairs of different-coloured "Star Briefs" to the clothing shop. - Added an "Orc Chief Outfit" to the Orc Chief's tent. - Added a craftable Wood Dryad Outfit. - Added craftable Slime Undies. - Added a "Drop List" to the Demon Log. This list shows all of the enemy's possible drops. --- It can be toggled by selecting/confirming any enemy from the log. --- You have to have obtained the drop from the enemy before you can see the item in the log. - Changed the functionality of Relic Item Limits. --- Except for special "rare" relics, you can now have up to 99 of a single Relic in your inventory. --- You still cannot equip more than the Relic's limit simultaneously. --- This gives you more freedom to pick up relics from chests without a "You can't hold any more" message. - Changed the briefs/underwear appearance. - Changed several enemy stats. - Changed the prices of some Relics. - Changed some of the Demon Log entries to give more details and updated descriptions. Updated Demon Log entries are the Pollen Demon, Spiderling, and Honey Bees - Changed what images are "required" for deployment. This has no effect on players, but make building the game much easier for me. Please let me know if you see any "Missing Asset" errors as a result. - Changed some of the actions in battle to run faster, especially those which have no BattleLog messages (eg. Ending turn, delay between surrendering and the confirmation popup, Lucas' attacks) - Changed the Surrender skill to be available at all times, and not tied to the Relic. This is to allow those playing on Story mode to be able to be defeated if they so choose. --- Removed the Surrender Relic --- Changed the Options menu to enable/disable showing the Surrender command in battle. - Changed the "Defend" skill to not require selecting the user (as it is always Lucas). - Changed Tommy and Chris to be intractable from behind the counter as well. - Changed the Paladin Recruitment dialogue to not remove the Wooden Sword from the player's inventory. - Changed the visuals of the post-battle message showing Lucas was victorious and how much gold/experience he earned. In particular, added icons to the drops. - Fixed a bug where, when re-fighting Shadowstone enemies, Lucas would retain any Defensive or Attack bonuses he had on the last turn of the previous fight if he had been defeated. - Fixed a bug where the player sees a second "Note from Tommy" in the Inn's second floor after it is renovated by Chris. - Fixed an issue where several enemies were rendered incorrectly, appearing blurry in-game. This was especially noticeable with the Blue Slime as it was fully coloured. - Fixed some minor typos. - Fixed some minor tree tiling issues. - Fixed a minor issue with Demons' images loading in the wrong position and snapping into place a frame later in the Demon Log. - Fixed a major bug where enemy AI intents would change even when they weren't supposed to. Particularly, they would often change when Lucas struggled but failed to break free from bondage. - Fixed a bug where the Forest Sprite wouldn't cast Forest Illusion multiple times. This made the fight more difficult than intended. - Fixed an issue where battle backgrounds would appear small for a split second at the start of battle before "scaling" into the correct size. - Fixed an issue where Lucas and the Wood Dryad would be set to the wrong location if you skipped the into cutscene. - Fixed an issue where applying block in multiple different turns sometimes wouldn't update the states display, even though the Block was successfully applied. - Fixed a bug where skipping the post-battle victory cutscenes for the Bees, Sprite, and Orc Chief when the screen was tinted white would leave it permanently tinted white. --- This issue may occur elsewhere in other skippable cutscenes. If you notice this, please let me know! --- To fix it, press F12, click on "Console" at the top, type "$gameScreen.startTint([0, 0, 0, 0], 1);" without the quotes, and press enter. ## [1.0.0] - Initial release
